As part of our nutrition- and cookery skills programme, we’ve been working on creating a series of workshops on healthy eating, with the help of FEAST’s beneficiaries.
Through these workshops, we teach skills that support our users to live a healthier and more independent life, make cheap, eco-friendly meals themselves, and understand the link between diet and overall wellbeing.
The content of these workshops is created in partnership with professional dietitians, so we can teach these skills in a practical, easily understandable way, and reach audiences of all abilities.
Our educational programme covers aspects such as:
- How fat works
- Understanding food and diet
- The relationship between diet and health
- Budgeting to cook from scratch
- Shopping for healthy eating
- Cooking methods and ways of eating well
Our healthy-eating programme, which is run at homeless shelters and temporary accommodation, helps people experiencing food poverty to find realistic ways out of unhealthy eating habits.
