Ellie Butterworth
Volunteer and Community Partnerships Coordinator
How/why did you get involved in FEAST?
I graduated with a Master’s in Food and Development and knew I wanted to pursue a career in a non-profit organisation working to tackle local food insecurity. I also supported a research project that aimed to understand local food security and nutrition policies and how they affect vulnerable people. So, FEAST really stood out to me due to the focus on nutrition, community and sustainability.
I’ve also always been involved in volunteering – whether in community kitchens or at my local football club! I’m passionate about volunteering and was thrilled to start working with such a wonderful team who support FEAST services.
Anything FEAST is doing that you are particularly passionate about?
I’m incredibly excited about our involvement in the Camden Food Partnership! It’s been a fantastic opportunity to learn from such a diverse network of food services and stakeholders within the borough. I’m keen to see how we can support and learn from other boroughs and their respective food missions in the future, especially as FEAST grows and supports different communities across London.
Hobbies and interests outside of work?
I grew up in Dorset so am totally adapted to rural living! I love donning my wellies and rambling through the countryside. My hobbies include football (being a goalkeeper for most of my life), rock music and baking.
