Marcus Gregar-Rive
Fundraising Manager
How/why did you get involved in FEAST?
I’ve worked in the charity sector for over 13 years, primarily in fundraising and communications roles for children and international development causes. FEAST’s approach stands out to me as a core reason I’m here. Repurposing food surplus to cook nutritious meals and educate on nutrition, as well as creating safe spaces for people to come with lived experiences to eat, talk and connect. It’s a beautiful thing to me. When you face hardship and go through the domino effect of things going wrong, we provide an essential service and place for building resilience to face the day and build a healthier future.
Anything FEAST is doing that you are particularly passionate about?
FEAST’s Healthy Eating on a Budget programme is rooted in nutrition and equipping people with the skills they need. But then it goes beyond cooking and budgeting. Its creating confidence, opening ideas up for people, and inspiring genuine change. Being a boost for people to build a brighter life from making the most of the resources they do have, and learning skills to improve their quality of life.
Hobbies and interests outside of work?
I really enjoy the great outdoors exploring and being in nature and when its too wet outside, my ever-growing indoor plant collection gets a lot of love. I enjoy cooking experimenting with different ingredients and baking up a storm is one of the ways I unwind. I’ve been told my Anzacs are some of best in town!
